the insight retreat center (irc) offers silent meditation retreats both at our center just outside santa cruz, ca and online. our retreats are focused on insight meditation (vipassana) and the liberation teachings of the buddha. we are entirely supported by a community of teachers, practitioners, volunteers and donors whose generosity is the foundation for the center. with no paid staff, our retreats express the integration of practice, service, and goodwill of all who participate. our retreats are offered freely, as gifts to those who attend—there is no cost. donations by those who attend make it possible to pass this gift forward to others who come to irc. we welcome people of all cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, racial identities, socio-economic class, sexual orientation, gender, age, education, and abilities.
